A wording struck my mind …dance in everybody blood…. I start thinking about blood, though we have same colour of blood but still we are different. Why? The answer is our blood group. Today I would like to share about Blood Group.

What are the blood group?

ANTIGENS – chemical markers that act as a security device for our immune system .

Each group has a different blood type antigen:

O – no antigen

A – A antigen

B – B antigen

AB - A & B antigens

What is the Rhesus Factor?

Each blood group has an additional factor called the rhesus (RH) factor.

If the Rh antigen is present, the blood is O+, A+, B+, AB+ (universal recipient)

If the Rh antigen is absent, the blood is O- (universal donor), A-, B-, AB- (beware of anti-Rh antibody!!)

HISTORY:

Blood Group O

O for Original – 50,000 BC+

(Neanderthal, hunter & gatherer, meat-eater, African continent)

Blood Group A

A for Adapted – 25,000 BC+
